Aside
from acting as agents for and manufacturing a range of game
fishing tackle, Black Pete Marine also have a comprehensive
selection of live bait and bottom fishing rigs ideally suited
to Australian conditions.
The
Black Pete live bait rigs would be perfect for trolling slimy
mackerel for marlin, or dropping live and dead baits down
on a reef, berley trail or rock wall for kingfish, yellowfin
tuna or big jewies.
The
hooks on the live bait leaders are straight-shanked chemically-sharpened
Mustad Hoodlums in sizes 6/0 to 9/0, and the hard-wearing
eight foot mono leader is snooded onto the hook not
crimped with a Flemish Eye at the swivel end.
Fishing
up and down beneath the boat for flathead, snapper, morwong
and nannygai is a bit of a forgotten technique in this day
and age of floater fishing, but it definitely pays to have
a few two hook bottom fishing rigs sitting in the tackle box.
The
hooks on the bottom rigs are chemically-sharpened Mustad Big
Reds in sizes 3/0 to 6/0. They're snooded onto the line, and
a nice touch is the soft lumo bead sitting atop the hook to
add a little luminescence to the rig on deep reefs.
The
hand-tied dropper loops are nice and short to prevent tangling
and there's a crane swivel for linking the rig to the main
line.
Black
Pete Marine have quite a lineup of bottom fishing terminal
rigs in addition to those featured here, so check them out
at your favourite tackle store today.
